When materials containing asbestos are damaged, they release asbestos fibers into the air that cause serious diseases. These diseases do not appear suddenly with the first exposure, but develop over time. For this reason, treatment is late and there is nothing that can be done. Although the production of asbestos is banned in most countries, materials containing asbestos products are still used in many areas. Employees who repair and maintain these materials are at greater risk than other people. Asbestos, which has been used especially in the construction sector, has started to become a problem within the scope of urban transformation projects or with the destruction of buildings as a result of a natural disaster such as an earthquake.
